Forget the Lemonade!!!

When life hands you lemons; make lemonade.

Have you heard that one before? Of course you have. Probably every native English speaker has heard that phrase. I grew up making the best of situations. Learning to live with my lot in life. Work hard and wait for that ship to come in.

But my 30s has me asking questions.

What if you don't want to make lemonade??? What if I want more than my lot??? What if I'm tired of waiting for someone to say 'Well you've worked real hard. Here is your ship, miss. You deserve it!!!'

The wisdom and advice I've been blessed to receive lately is to stop getting hung up on what life hands you. I need to get out there, decide what I want and create it. If life hands me lemons, I need to say thank you and move on. Forget the lemonade!!! No one is going to hand me a ship. I must build it.
